The Brooklyn Nets have been at the center of controversy and off-season rumors since entering its rebuild last summer, specifically being linked to Milwaukee Bucks superstar Giannis Antetokounmpo.
While on a recent podcast episode (All NBA Podcast), Marc Stein reported that Giannis Antetokounmpo will NOT be traded unless he formally requests a trade.

For the rebuilding Nets, this could be the breath of fresh air many Nets fans have been begging for. As a fan of the rebuild myself, like majority of the fanbase, Giannis to Brooklyn just one year after acquiring its 2025 and 2026 first round picks back made no logical sense.
With no current players who make an impact next to Giannis and minimal secondary star options to bring alongside Giannis, the route to success clearly shows rebuilding through the 2025 and 2026 generational draft classes while shooting for the stars during the 2026-27 off-season.
With the NBA Draft Lottery just four days away, Nets fans can take a deep breath as the focus is fully set on the NBA Draft in June. As for post-draft night, Nets fans will be praying Giannis doesn’t request a trade as we’ve seen Sean Marks make a handful of mistakes in previous seasons. If Brooklyn can rebuild for one more year, it could lead to a decade worth of potential success.
